The Triskelion is a Celtic symbol based around competition and a person's progress. The Greek word triskelion actually means "three-legged." And,the three spirals resemble 3 legs running. The way those 3 spirals are placed makes the symbol looks like it's in consistent forward motion.
The term 'Forward Motion' can mean so many different things to so many different people. To the dog agility team, forward motion is critical in communicating handling to the dog while on course. Forward motion may mean something much more personal to another dog and handler team. Perhaps it means moving slowly forward towards a small personal goal or towards competing on the national stage. To someone else, it may have nothing to do with dog training. It may mean something as simple as having the inner strength to keep motion forward during a difficult time in their lives.
As you can see, the Triskelion's meaning is vast and diverse. With so many possibilities for profound depth and meaning, it's no wonder the triskelion was such an important symbol to the Celtics.
